Coming ourselves from all corners of Scotland,
we've made it our mission to get more bottles of
our 'liquid gold' cold-pressed rapeseed oil into
kitchens all across Scotland and beyond!
Rapeseed oil is extracted from the seeds of rapeseed plants, from the same brassica family as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower. Harvested in late summer, rapeseed plants are the ones that you often see flowering bright yellow in fields during May.
Scottish rapeseed oil is tasty and versatile - ideal for roasting, frying, baking and drizzling. It has low food miles compared to other oils and is celebrated for its health benefits as it has less unhealthy saturated fat than all other cooking oils and fats.
It is also high in naturally occurring antioxidents and is a great source of plant based Omega 3 so can help you maintain healthy cholesterol levels as part of
a healthy balanced diet - beneficial for heart health.
And it is a rich source of vitamin E. We all cold-press our oil because by not adding heat or chemicals we are able to ensure that it the oil is treated more gently and retains all of its natural goodness and great taste
Some of the very best chefs and enthusiastic foodies already rave about Scottish Rapeseed Oil and now we want you to see what all the buzz is about. Have a read of some of our recipes, read more from our supporters, find out where your nearest stockist is, and follow us

The home of Black & Gold is in the fertile county of East Lothian where we have been growing oilseed rape on our farm, Stevenson Mains, for over 25 years. Black & Gold is one of the finest finishing oils produced in Scotland and we are proud of our single-farm provenance. It is used by the most famous chefs in the country. Stuart Muir, Executive Head chef of Harvey Nichols 4th Floor Restaurant believes it is in a class of its own “a superb flavour, an amazing rich, golden colour."
Every time you use Borderfields, you're tapping into a wealth of history. We are a traditional farming co-operative. Our partnership of like-minded farmers in Northumberland, the Scottish Borders and Nottinghamshire are all highly skilled and experienced growers of vegetables, cereals and oilseeds.

As the most northerly cold pressed rapeseed oil, Cullisse Highland Rapeseed Oil benefits from the unique micro-climate and fertile soils of Easter Ross in the Scottish Highlands where the naturally healthy properties of the rapeseed are nurtured in the seed pods during the extra long days of light that distinguish a Highland Summer.
Described by Nigel Slater on his Simple Cooking programme as “very special” Cullisse Highland Rapeseed Oil is silky smooth and buttery, with hints of asparagus and freshly picked garden peas. Equally suited to dressing salads or roasting potatoes and with 50% less saturated fat and 9 times more Omega 3, 6 and 9 than most olive oils, Cullisse is healthy, versatile and downright delicious!
Cullisse is Bee friendly with all seed neonicotinoid free. The bi-product from pressing is fed to the farm’s cows and 20p from every litre sold is donated to Farm Africa, the charity that sparked the Cullisse Highland Rapeseed Oil dream.
